Hidden from sight
Unobtrusive
Soft and small
But
Don’t be fooled
It can be quite abusive
It holds the key to destruction or success
It can render years of prayers worthless
It can obliterate mountains of charity
Turn the pious into penniless
And
Fasting into starving
Breaking hearts
Poisoning minds
Controlling it is no easy task
What’s this fearsome creature you ask?
THE TONGUE
A single word uttered
Can either gain the pleasure or the displeasure of our Creator
And
Heaven or Hell
An eternal rule to beholden
That is…
Silence is golden
