A Chance

I was given a chance,
A chance to do good
If only I listened to mother once,
I would be doing what I should

Now, here I am stranded,
In a field of dismay
I feel like my thoughts are tangled,
Not knowing what to do or say

At first I started out strong,
Brilliant and powerful
But it feels like I’m doing something wrong,
Committing sins for the sake of being cool

I must repent and return,
To the right path ahead
I seek forgiveness and turn
Back to God before dust becomes my bed
