A Gift

Your first cry was a joy
Surrounded by love and toys
Something was amiss
BUT you wasn’t bothered the least


Everything was perfect
Even without sight – you don’t feel the effect
You being born was enough
Though it was tough


There is a reason for everything
Allah swt makes perfect all things
Even the slightest misfortune
All dances in HIS tune


Your sight was taken
Please don’t be mistaken
I am NOT lamenting
Just trying to make sense of thing


Looking positively
Your sight is reserved so rightly
To see only the All-Mighty
Come eternity


Blindness is not a disease
Stereotyping has to cease
Your world is not gleam
As your good heart is a dream


Even before you could see
The world with cloud and trees
Allah swt has a gift
For his special servant life doesn’t lay stiff


The good among you is not in appearance
This is apparent as al-Quran mentioned –
Allah swt is not BIAS
As the best of you is the most pious*


Your eyes is a gift only to see Allah
Be patience and follows Rasulullah
See the world through your heart
That is a good start.


So don’t be despair
Allah is most Fair
Your shortcoming is a blessing
As your eyes are protected from sinning
