Companion of the Prophet (pbuh)
First Muazzin – Caller to the Prayer!

How clearly your voice proclaimed
The words of truth
How your recital was famed
Amongst the old and youth

How much you were loved
By the Prophet himself
Comforter of the hearts
Giving assurance of help

Help of the Almighty
Which would surely come
To threats and oppression
Your heart never succumbed

You stayed loyal to the truth
Even when on burning sand you lay
They put a rock on your chest
Yet still you would say:

Ahad! Ahad! One God! One God!

Our sweet nightingale Bilal
Beautiful companion of the Prophet (pbuh)
Our caller to prayer. Allah ho Akbar.
