They will call him a hero
and heap praise with gusto
He died defending honor
freedom, nation, whatever

It will ease their latent shame
but will not lessen your pain.
When all is said and done
you will be left all alone

The business of war will continue
orphaning in the name of virtue
Remember, on the other side too
there are many kids like you
