I do pray
But of late I’m not sure it works
though its asked

Looking at all the goody souls around me
(with prayer passion)
makes my less solid belief hard to express

Most people pray for what has a good chance to happen anyway
It focuses their mind and effort
and so it’s good, even if the tied up prayer doesn’t work

Probabilities give prayers an inside track.
There’s likely no spiritual-physical link
and humans are only human, despite some pretensions

From time to time, as we live
we do sense magic that is hard to explain.
Prayers answered may be one such
