Grief reaches the soul much deeper
Much deeper, than any joy
And that's why it has more power
To change someone

A chance to reflect deeper and grow
And take treasure - insight, wisdom
On the 10th of Muharram, against darkness
See how beacons of light shone

Water washes things outside of us
Tears clean us from the inside
Standing with the right is truth
And truth makes us strong

Weeping over the tragedy
Of our noble Imam Husayn
Cleanses, purifies souls
And reminds us - to God we belong.
