I can't get you out of my mind...

My mind so focused in perfecting my obedience to the Deen,
That I did not realize when you slipped in,
I thought that I put all the walls up high,
So that no one could get by,
So when did you get inside?

Its not like you did anything to entice me,
In fact your unassuming presence never before even made an impression on me,
Its just the way you handled a certain situation,
That planted the quiet seeds of admiration

I first brushed those growing feelings aside,
But when I could no longer hide,
I took it to my Lord in prayer,
To weed out and keep those feelings at bay,
For I thought it was my nafs at play

My heart quietened down,
My resolve to avoid you at all costs grew firmer,
But a sudden chance encounter,
Has set my heart back a flounder!

Ya Allah, what does this mean?
I read istikhara with the intention of steering clear,
To stamp out shallow emotions that don't last,
Its always worked in the past,
Now I have become paralyzed with guilt and fear,
What if I transgress boundaries so dear,
Please Ya Allah help me, Ya Haadiu set me free as You see fit,
I don't want to end up in that eternal pit!
