I remembered, when I was small
not so short and not so tall
growing up as a village boy
the timeless playtime was indeed a joy

no worries no bullies
just a few, us buddies
pledging to stand united and tall
helping one another should one of us fall

all was the same no boundary divided us
each one had an absolute trust
petty squabble was a must
but in a minute it was gone just like the dust

I remembered when I was small
just as we all recalled
the time was heavenly
the only thing I have now is but a memory

time passes, I am now no more small
caught in the game of life to gain all
either a friend or a foe
I can't tell the different though

some smile, some nod but once you turn
a deceitful tale they spun
the game we play now is more painful
back biting, dubios ploy...to name all is sinful

the innocent child of today
is burdened with a race to compete all the way
and some not so fortunate
a bleak future is definite

the children of war
know nothing, just like the kid next door
the victims of circumstances
from a (war) game played not by chances

Let there have world peace
to protect the many little fists
let there have harmony
not always to rush for that thing call money

I pray to Allah to stop this indifferent
not to mention the heinous crimes against children
let them have the memory
of a time of a sweet melody

Hadith Buhkari 2:441
Narrated Abu Huraira :
Allah's Apostle said, "Every child is born with a true faith of Islam (i.e. to worship none but Allah Alone) but his parents convert him to Judaism, Christianity or Magainism, as an animal delivers a perfect baby animal. Do you find it mutilated?" Then Abu Huraira recited the holy verses: "The pure Allah's Islamic nature (true faith of Islam) (i.e. worshipping none but Allah) with which He has created human beings. No change let there be in the religion of Allah (i.e. joining none in worship with Allah). That is the straight religion (Islam) but most of men know, not." (30.30)
