Let Down

He rode the wings of change and hope.
Widely adored, though suspected by many a dope.
Bringing tears of joy to millions.
Ending an era of deprivations.

He didn’t deserve it, they said.
Accomplishments are slight, he admitted.
With his new hue,
big deeds are likely to remain few.
