Mother of All Drugs

There is no drug like adulation
No worse addict than a vain person
Praise is the nutrient for ego
the original sin of creation

Clay containers corrode
when the acid of praise is poured
Freedom from this craving
comes from frequent prostrating

Take every accolade
with a grain of salt.
Redirect all acclaim to Allah
the absolute owner of praise
