Many generations of your family
Born in the same country
Being told it’s not your home
And being forced to flee

This is Myanmar – so much brutality
Against the Rohingya people
Words and actions of many “leaders”
So very weak and feeble

Villages burnt, people killed
Trying to find a place to hide
Yet another ongoing atrocity
Yet another genocide

Buddhists are supposed to love peace
So to learn this is a great surprise
Most of Myanmar is Buddhist
And their leader has a Nobel Peace Prize!

Running away with bullet wounds
Some drowning as they flee
Let’s wake up and raise attention
To this shocking catastrophe.
