New York's 9/11 = Muslim's 24/7 (A message from Imran to the world)

Submitted by : ImranAli786 on Strugle

11th September Every Year - World-wide condolences, prayers and moments of silence are given as tributes to the innocent people who lost their lives to a terrible disaster. A topic that has recieved some of the greatest lengths of time in controversy and discussion, with many beliefs. Many say it was terrorism, many say it was a conspiracy. Nontheless, a tragic crisis that had taken the lives of many people. Regardless of who was the cause, they are inhumane and are an abomination to their race and faith. Their lives are annually recalled at this time and will continue to throughout the ages. It was from this day, and with an adrenaline shot from the media, Islam has been instantaneously targeted and is now considered one of the greatest threats to worldwide society. Despite this, we Muslims join you on this day, and offer our sincere prayers for our brothers and sisters in humanity. The whole world takes a moment that day, each year, in silence...

Every Day of Every Month of Every Year - Fathers, Mothers, Daughters, Sons, Brothers, Sisters, Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Friends, Colleagues, and every other loved one in between are lost in Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria... the extent is incomprehensable. Everyday, a war that has been destined, rages on. A war that the media, the same media that sympathises and emphasises the 9/11 crisis, won't spend a minute of their news, a sentence of their articles, or a statement from their speech, to show the faces of the children made orphans by oppression and hatred, silhouetted in the government's effortless, and rather emotionless saying that "We are doing everything we can"... There's an evident correlation too, these silent cries are emenating from who's mouths?... the Muslim's... and the Western society does what for us? Not a moment of silence for the mother left to hold her lifeless child, or the father who is beaten to death as his children cry for him.

I have a friend, a dear friend to me, who has persisted through a life of such horrifying experiences and loss, not a 9/11 crisis a month could compare to it. He has seen death, in the form of soldiers who claim to 'fight for our peace', steal his loved ones with his own eyes, the faces so dear to him lay motionless within an arm's reach of distance from him. His family have been made decrepit by it, yet they were blessed with an opportunity of our society. He has told me stories of his childhood; stories that were so terrifying, I wanted nothing but for my entire family to be with me in safety at that moment. He and his family survived, through the blessings of al-Muhaymin, The Greatest of Guardians, and the words that left his mouth did so with such truth, such petrifying, chilling truth, it shook his voice. I am beyond grateful to God for delivering him and his family to safety, and I have even greater gratitude that I have the honour of befriending such a courageous, humble person. May Allah ease the haunting sorrow of his past and sustain him and his family through this life and into the Gardens of the next, where InshaAllah, he will be re-united with his loved ones that deserved this life as much as they do the next.

The point I hope to convey in this short message, is this. The Muslims from places like Palestine and Afghanistan have to persist through a life more painful than the cut of every shard of glass of the Twin Towers. One disaster happened that had taken nearly 3,000 lives over 10 years ago; and it will be remembered, with the utmost certainty, for the foreseeable future. I can tell you from pure intuition that the same number of deaths is mirrored in these Muslims areas each and every year, most likely far more, and do they get an annual day in remembrance? No. Do they get an hour? No. A single minute?! No............ why, just... why?I know many of you non-Muslims reading this think I'm exaggerating and blowing this way out of proportion to make a point. You probably also think that I'm an Islamic Extremist. Well you know what... I am an Islamic Extremist. I am extremely kind, extremely affectionate, extremely loyal and extremely grateful and many other forms of this. You may call us Muslims terrorists, oppressed, immigrants, whatever, but if you've observed us as closely as your media has, you'll see that we are closer and as loyal as any faith. We Muslims, as a whole, join you in mourning the catastrophe of 9/11, because we promote peace, it is our goal... but when our brothers and sisters die everyday, what do you offer them? It angers me, this entire topic... but I can't contain my passion for equality.

You could take this message in many perspectives, a lecture, a lesson, it doesn't matter, I wish for you all to take one thing at least... that we are all humans, of different colour and of different tongues... does faith have to segregate some of us? All I ask that you do is spend some time, a mere minute of your time each day, to pray for the oppressed Muslims, as we pray for you. If not for my sake, then for my dear friend's sake, and if not for our sake, then at least for humanity, and let us destroy the statistics below:
