Ode to the Pen of the Faith – A reply A write up
I felt like it’s a calling
A reminder that keeps coming
From a fellow writer
Thinking about the Ummah’s matter

It’s great to remind one another
Yes we need each other
Only then the Ummah will grow stronger
Regardless of the gender

A gentle reminder
For us to ponder
Spread even a word*
If we want to move forward

In Islam it is acknowledged
Even if you did not go to college
Do good to differentiate
As fellow human will appreciate

Speech, actions and writing
It must set you thinking
Even if it’s not to your liking
We must keep reminding

Wayfarer wrote and I read
A feeling so glad
As it kept me thinking
A reply in the making!

A small deed will always be recognize
What more if it is organized
In this world a preparatory stage
All is written page by page**

Let’s heed Wayfarer’ call
So that the Ummah can stand tall
For the sake of the Deen***
Pick a pen and lets begin

Write and write and write
Make a wrong right
Muster all your might
Just post a poem tonight


‘For the pen remains mightier than the sword’
It has been revealed and taught
None other by Allah through Rasulullah****
So what are you waiting for Oh! Abdullah?

* The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said "Convey (what you learn from me) even if only one verse…" (Related by Bukhari)

** Al-Quran 50: 17-18: (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions) Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).

36:12 Verily, We shall indeed bring the dead back to life; and We shall record whatever [deeds] they have sent ahead, and the traces [of good and evil] which they have left behind: for of all things do We take account in a record clear.

*** Tamim ad-Dari said that the Messenger of Allah said, "The deen is nasiha (good counsel/sincere conduct). The deen is nasiha. The deen is nasiha." They asked, "To whom, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "To Allah and His Book and His Messenger and the Imams of the muslims and the common people."
