Prayer for Solace

Forgive me, O’ Creator
for misusing your gifts
to enrich myself at the expense
of your less endowed creatures.

Help me give back in charity
what I don’t need or deserve.
Judge me by the time I’ve spent doing wrong
Reward me for time I devoted to worship

Make the remaining time I have
a period of peaceful detachment
from the vagaries of rivalry
that living on your earth entails

Away from the ghosts of acceptance
haunting me in a culture
of moral tribulations
taunting your guidance at every step.
