Rational Exuberance

Armed with five senses and memory
humans thump their chests
as they take on the universe
with its endless complexity
and infinite unknowns

Know that true knowledge came to mankind
as a favor from the Creator
in the physical domain by inspiration
in the spiritual domain by revelation
Refinements were left to the realm of innovation

Realize that dreams are seldom coherent.
Instincts at times repugnant.
Sixth sense is often dormant.
Fortuitous synapses may be relevant
But rational extrapolation is often impotent.
