Sweet bird

Submitted by : writer1 on Islam

Leaping into the air, quickly flapping it’s wings
Sudden, swift action is what inspiration brings
Desperate to fly higher and higher
Wishing never to slow, never to tire
Full of emotion, in it’s own way it yelled
This little bird’s chest stretched and swelled

Like this bird, become agitated!

Seek nearness to the Most Loving and desperately yearn
How? Sit humbly at the Ahlulbayt’s (AS) door and learn
Shake the ice, heat the soul with holy names
Don’t let every day of yours be the same
Be wise – know humility helps you rise above
Be wise – and trade self-importance for love

Leap from the branch!

There is much to do
Each second is precious, each hour is new

Learn from this bird, foster that zeal
Which opens the eyes to what is real.
