I heard that story, of power, glory.
Second chances made them sorry.
New empire, run by another liar.
The face of love hid true desire.

The sacred message, the lasting tale.
The truth that made their faces pale.
Fear then froze the lakes of wonder.
Set the flames alight from under.

Then sailed far and wide, explorers.
Who owned the keys to natures doors.
Upon reflection, few did see,
the better ways to live and be.

Tropic rains to barren lands,
Softest lips on worn out hands.
Midnight skies and perfumed seas.
The story told beneath date palm trees.
