The Broadening


I will remember the day always
After completing all my surveys

I realize the belief of all the saints
The day of your childhood
The day you really did faint

After looking at a glittering body
Heart mind and soul turned moody

You felt unconscious and numbed
It was the Arch Angel who had come

Gabriel caught your fall and eased you
Like slipping from a rose petal
Sweet drop of the morning dew

The Angel had a tool in his left hand
A container in his right
Filled with a sublimely exalted light

He drew the tool to cut open your chest
Then gently cleansed your breast

He emptied the container into your heart
Your heart occupied all the light
Until your soul turned extremely bright

With the grace of Allah’s might
Gabriel switched your heart back inside
Sealing your chest from both the sides

This fact will always stay alive
Through the ninety fourth chapter
Of the heavenly Quran
The holy scripture for eternal thrive

Author’s Comments

- This poem is based on the real incident which took place in Mecca when Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) was a kid, he saw The Arch Angel Gabriel(pbuh)On the horizon and fainted, the angel cut opened the prophets chest cleansed it and emptied light from the container into his heart, it was done to increase his Wisdom and the strength of his Belief

- So as to prepare the Prophet (pbuh) for that which he had yet to see, through the Night Journey, when he traveled to Allah’s beloved places and lead in prayer every messenger who came on the earth and then he was ascended to the Seventh Heaven to behold the Throne and to behold the Exalted Enigmas of ALLAH
