The Disappearing Footsteps…..

It was in the desert of Arabia
In a tale much like a Fantasia
The most influential figure appeared
The many lives he changed and steered

From darkness to light
Happiness was at sight
Changing the life changing the landscape
Bringing reality from the escapades

And it was said that the People of the Book
They were keen for a peek for a look
All Prophets as they claimed were their lineage*
As it was from the beginning of the Age

From their brethrens they hoped he was
They were sure – he would help their cause
Alas they were wrong
And their defiant brewed too strong

What a debacle?
A thorny issue to tackle
Their claimed as the Chosen People were threatened
By this lone soul they were frightened

A harbinger of their doom
The tell tale signs leading to their end to their tombs
Arrogance was their reason**
As to Allah they committed treason

This was the reaction of the Unbeliever
A prophecy fulfilled and delivered
Their acts of denial leading to their aggression
They fell to the trap of the Devil’s deception

Now, as Muslim are we falling into the same trap?
The teachings of our Prophet we sidestepped
The Disappearing Footsteps
We don’t follow we don’t keep tab

We challenge we argue
We reason the teaching was irrelevant – A long overdue
Some even dare said
- the religion a man-made?

Now, check your attitude
In matter of servitude
There shouldn’t be any substitute
As we hold to the TWO as instituted***

We do not reject the Prophet
For our future and prospect
His teachings we respect
As all we keep intact****

* Al-Quran 2:47 “O Children of Israel! Call to mind My favour which I bestowed on you and that I preferred you to all others (for my Message)”

** Al-Quran 3:112 “Indignity is put over them wherever they may be, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allah, and from men; they have drawn on themselves the Wrath of Allah, and destruction is put over them. This is because they disbelieved in the Ayats (evidences) of Allah and killed the Prophets without right. *** Hadrat Malik bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "I have left amongst you two things. You will not go astray so long as you hold fast to them. These are the Book of Allah, and the Sunnah of His Messenger." (Malik)

**** Al-Quran 2:208 “O Believers, enter completely into Islam and do not follow in" the footsteps of Satan, for he is your avowed enemy
