The Forgotten Land

By the blood-painted soil of what was once a fertile
land, my country is no more.

By the nameless children and their showering tears,
who was this war fought for?

By the mothers and their deafening screams and the
fathers with their shattered dreams.

By the young girls silenced without a voice, raped and
tortured without a choice.

By the soldiers and their scars, those beaten to death
and those shackled behind bars.

By the night & the endless evil they fought, and the
day with the horror it brought.

By the babies that left their mothers wombs, lifeless,
they were carried to their tombs.

By the fleeing men & women who never looked back, too
busy afraid to die.

By the country they left behind, the forgotten name of
Afghanistan, they now begin to cry.

By the days turned into the months, and the months
turned into years, such were the grains of time.

By the hands that fed this poison to my people, they
shall suffer long for their endless crimes.

By the wages of war, the betrayals this country bore,
I ask again who was this war fought for?

By the one & only Allah, we should see that His wrath
is real, and His mercy close ahead.

By the Last Day & the Judgement we will meet, the
living will soon awake from death.

And alas we will see the justice lost in this war, and
we will finally know who this war was fought for.
