A carpenter works with a hammer and nails
Making furniture like desks and chairs
A hairdresser works with a pair of scissors
Cutting and shaping people’s hair

A plumber works with a spanner
Fixing pipes and all those leaking taps
A tailor works with a machine and thread
Making and mending clothes and hats

A teacher works with a board and pen
Sharing knowledge with the world
Office workers use a computer
To put together numbers and words

Tools: Hammer, scissors and spanner
Machines, pens, and so many more
Like compasses, drills and calculators
But what are they all used for?

They help us earn a living
By providing services to each other
Although they’re important tools
Are there any that are bigger.....?

Yes! Hands, eyes, ears, feet, the whole body
Is a blessing, and greater still a noble mind
We could look in all the stores of the world
Tools as precious as these we could never find

(Don’t focus on the drop and forget the ocean
Don’t just look at the tree and ignore the view
Amongst all the noise and commotion
Fix your heart and soul on what is true)

Everyone uses these tools day and night
Let’s be grateful and give thanks as we should
By serving each other in the best manner
And using our whole being only for good.
