Why are you a Muslim?

Why are you a Muslim?

A class of boys and girls were asked
A reply was a must
But the question was tough!
Nobody in class dared to laugh

The question was short and slim
That is – why are you a Muslim?
A smart boy raised his hand
He was eager to get a score of ten

I am a Muslim coz my parent was one
I was born a Muslim and that couldn’t be undone
The teacher replied: “Alhamdulillah for if that is the case!”
It is by Allah’s Grace

And for some the search for the truth
Bring them to the Islamic groove
But really why are you a Muslim?
Do we really sit and think?

Now to find the answer to the question
Lets look at what Allah has set in motion
Al-Quran has long mentioned
But maybe it has just slipped our attention

Being a Muslim – the reasons are three
It is there for all to see
First is by Allah guidance and will*
Thus being a Muslim is such a steal!

Once guided, the second is to increase**
The good Muslim do will never cease
A Muslim is lucky if you know your fact
It is not too late to clean up your act!

Now, do you know why are you a Muslim?
Not by chances or by whim
A Muslim is loved by none other than Allah
And so too by Rasulullah (saw)

Being a witness is the last***
This is the greatest of all tasks
In hereafter, a non-Muslim will be asked
Isn’t there anybody you could trust?

Now do you know why?
If the non-Muslim tried to deny
This is our reply –
Just by being a Muslim – “Oh Allah we have tried”

* Al-Quran 39:23 “Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah . That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide.’

** Al-Quran 47:17 “And those who are guided - He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness.”

*** Al-Quran 2:143 “And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels. And indeed, it is difficult except for those whom Allah has guided. And never would Allah have caused you to lose your faith. Indeed Allah is, to the people, Kind and Merciful
