hushed footsteps scurry to embark
on a journey that sets you from the ummah apart
a humble ‘labbayk’ resonating in every heart
patience o muhrim this is the absolute restart

this day shall you the Lord of hosts’ guest be
traversing mina, arafat, muzdalifah, makkah firmly
unified for rahmah and maghfirah the plea
for every attentive and negligent ummati

The Gatherer shall your prayer hear on this day
so ask of Him whatever you may
but please remember those in dismay
and me and my family and all those of clay

your first is your last so please cherish this time
your next and the next will never be as sublime
return o hajji reborn to live your prime
O Merciful, Al-Raheem, may the next passage be mine
