Clutching to my Faith

Faith
I’d like to grasp you within these worn palms and hold you tight,
But the battle is raging and temptation has no mercy in the darkness of night.
Lucid dreams envelop me on the coast of a victory;
yet in reality I stand between paths of truth and a world wishing to hire me.
And still I battle against waves crashing at the banks of my soul,
Their anger spilling past my barriers, and my faith is distributed; sold.
Bought and treasured by the pirates deployed for this brutal affair,
Longing to unbury and expose the long lost scars I still wear.
And I ask what control have I? I'm a slave to the dunya and my wrists are tied;
And my fists are clenched.
So what to do but open them and recite the words from heaven He sent;
To the earth, a 'cure and a mercy' for every slave, every servant,
Confused about their worth and their purpose.
A book conveying messages of the importance of service,
To your Master, your Creater.
And yes my heart speaks fear but He's already heard this,
Al Samee3, Al Baseer.
So you know i’m okay and i’m reasurred
I will grasp faith as long as my intentions stay pure.
