Epidemiology of Evil
Uniquely human trait, hard to ignore or placate.
Not found in any other primate.
Breeds in creeds, crowds and loners,
articulating spite by leaders and preachers.
Created perhaps for amusement, of a bored celestial audience.
It is insidious, cunning; spreads by association and bonding.
Regular prayer can stifle its fervor, its not viral for T-cells to corral.
Not every sin portends evil, though every evil is certainly sinful.
Feigning weakness, appealing for fairness,
it creeps up when victims are anxious.
With haughty intolerance and unforgiving vengeance,
its not content with mere acceptance, always seeking dominance.
Hard to avoid its wiles.
Every soul it touches, stains and defiles.
Learn to spot it,
sometimes it smiles.
