Ghaus e Azam
Submitted by : ponderings on Islam
Five years outside Baghdad, you did plunger on
Fighting your nafs, banning the whispers anew,
Giving impetus to the riches of your Ruh.
Like a perfectly blooming flower,
You rose in stature in the gaze of your Rubb
Till the day was dawn, you became a perfect abd.
Abd al Qadir is your name
May He be pleased with you, we praise.
In gratitude, we seek comfort under your cloak
You are our axis, our Ghaus.
We look to you remembering your love,
your loyalty, your nurturing force.
Your Qaseeda we balance on our lips,
While in our hearts in tears of comfort we do confide,
Knowing that your promise is to keep by our side
Sheik Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) is known as the Sultan of Saints. This poem was written to commemorate Egyarwee Shareef
