Hiding behind excuses
To not to come forward

In your hour of need my heart refuses
To participate in helping your poor
I wish . . . I wish I had done more

I am sorry for siding with the lies
Of popular media releases
They crumble facts and mute your cries

Despite deep down I know about the abuses
I chose to ignore
Please forgive me, I implore

I am sorry I stopped dreaming
I could save the world
I remember in my childhood it was all I could believe in

Behold I carry a spirit full of life, but
Whatever happened to that demeanor?
