If I was brought up as a Christian

If I was brought up as a Christian I would attend church every Sunday.
Singing hymns so loud my voice would fill up the room like the light of a sun ray.
Or would I be bewildered at the thought of almighty God begetting a son?
Jesus I do truly love you, but calling you the son of God is something that cannot be done.
If I was brought up as a Hindu I would worship Krishna, Vishnu and many other Gods of different names.
Going to the temple to offer pooja, dancing on Diwali and Holi I would not feel tame.
Or would I realise the folly of worshipping that which cannot answer me?
Realising how I plead, cry and give praise to an idol made of stone staring back at me.
If I was brought up as a Jew I would rest with my family on Sabbath day.
Praising God in a Synagogue to cleanse my mind of dismay.
Or would I think it wrong to only be able to enter the faith if you have a Jewish mother
Eating Kosher meat is sweet, but my heart would be in a state of bother.
If I was brought up as a Sikh the spiritual teachings of the ten Gurus would I follow.
So I could be born again in a beautiful body in a life devoid of sorrow.
Or would I be apalled at the thought that one could be born again as a rat that I curse.
The teachings and ways I do respect but in Karma there is surely something perverse.
If I was brought up as a Buddhist I would follow the eight-fold path of enlightenment.
Devoting myself to yoga and meditation, leaving all acts of enticement.
Or would I be left disheartened at the thought of no supreme being
Acts spent in devotion but without a God where is this all actually leading?
I have been brought up as a Muslim
Following my beloved Prophet Muhammed’s (saw) teachings with a heart that can never go dim.
I believe Jesus is a Holy Prophet, son of God he is not.
I believe God should be worshipped soley as one, idols made of stone can one day rot.
I believe anyone can become a Muslim, even if a Muslim mother or father you have not.
I believe in Heaven and Hell, being reborn again and again is something I can comprehend not.
I believe there is only one true God who has made the universe and to him is our return.
