LIFE OF A SUFI
It is truly grand, this spiritual goal,
to be at oneness with your soul.
Be aware of its wishes and you will gain,
brilliant insight into what you call a brain.
From your fellow man you may suffer ridicule,
but he is the buffoon; you are just merely the fool.
Yours was once the glory on earth sanctified,
but now the greater glory, is the soul fully realised.
Demanding revelation is really quite sad,
the act of asking is a statement that it might not be had.
If it cannot be had, then it might not exist,
with the soul you can create things if you persist.
The Shaytan is here, he is always around,
to stop you from flying, to bring you crashing down.
So wrap your shawl around you and cover your face,
turn yourself to the inside, now you’re out of this place.
To be spiritually active for a Sufi is one hell of a game,
ever creating a life and not living in shame.
Striving, Jihad, (not war) for Islam is a magnificent test,
rewards will become manifold, when East becomes West.
