Once a serene entity of sphere
evolving gracefully and harmoniously
with majestic demure
dutiful to the one above, who created me
to nurture mankind for centuries
dutiful to the one above, who filled me with precious life
so people could grow in love and unity
different beliefs and nations
to know, respect and join each other in celebrations
but, now hear my cry, my lamenting story
Oh mankind, you've robbed me of my glory
over time you've made me suffer silently
I was nourished with minerals and oils
so humans could strive and toil
embedded into me mountains of steel
and beautified with diversity
spread out with lands to the east and west
such goodness with what you have been blessed
But, hear my cry, oh mankind
your endless greed and vain desires
has enveloped you in darkness and made you blind
but you carry on, not looking behind
cruel injustice you inflict on the poor, creating poverty
instigating senseless wars, destroying lives of many
you bloody my soil with the innoncent ones
who sweat and toil in the sweltering sun
to make a hard earned living
but, you the oppressors scorn, hearts unforgiving
you ravage my land and destruction do cause
killing children, women and elderly, yet you show no remorse
spread of diseases, borne through your evil ways
when will you stop, when will you repent to your Lord, prostrate and pray?
Today, I shall finally lament
I can bear no more, my anger I must vent
the fire within me, has long been
kindling away at the horrors seen
Beware! The day of reckoning will soon be brought near
when every soul shall taste death and shake with fear
testify will I Mother Earth, to the deeds of mankind and all will I reveal
in the court of justice, before my Lord, my voice will not be silent
and nothing will I conceal!
