My Arabian love
Submitted by : hanifan on Poem Stories
MY ARABIAN LOVE.
I met him at first down on the farm,
he was loved by everyone and so full of charm.
I first fell in love with the cheeky twinkle in his eye,
and then his manly swagger as he walked by.
He was Arabian by birth his papers say,
I love to watch him in the fields, with children at play.
In the haze of the evening mist I softly sigh,
at his magnificent body as he dashes by.
When the gently blowing breeze whispers his name,
when the dew of the dawn sparkles on his body and mane
.
When the boughs of the trees like his body sway,
when we run thro' the valley and smell the Nosegay.
My love for him grows stronger and stronger,
but the woods and the valleys are not safe any longer.
My world would crumble if we were to part,
he is my best friend, my comforter, he is my heart.
Alas! My heart is broken, from my love I am parted,
I fear for my love, now harvesting has started.
They took him today, he went gently of course,
I'm ten years old, I'll miss him, my Arabian horse.
