Open Season
All the world over, there is but one refrain.
How many to kill, how many to maim?
Lets do the quota – why stop to worry?
Proximity to hostility, itself an antipathy.
Can’t catch them alive; a dilemma if they survive.
Why such a big fuss? For folks so not like us.
Freedom from torture, they do not deserve.
Hunt them like animals, possibly worse.
There is open glee, often boundless,
when videos are shown targeting the hapless.
When will this stop? A few kind souls mumble.
Only when double standards start to tumble.
