Remembering A Friend

Remembering A Friend

The little time we spent together
A cherish moment I didn’t bother
Until the love one is gone
That’s when my heart was torn

Oh! The useless remorse
Couldn’t change the course
How I wish I could do more?
For a Friend that is no more

A passing of a friend or the love one
Is a matter nobody wants!
But we cannot change destiny
As it is the thing to be! *

Sooner or later we cannot buck the trend
The thing we can do for a dead friend
Is to pray for the soul to have peace –
In Jannah where all thing is at ease

We cannot turn back the clock
Soon it’s time for us to dock
To meet our Creator **
To answer for our deeds and characters

Time flies
Before we realize
Most close ones are gone
Again before the heart is torn!

Cherish the moment
Don’t torment
A friend – the love one is precious
Enjoy the company when we are alive and conscious

Since death brings another chapter
Our lives our adventures
Must be guided by the Islamic Stature
This is the Nature

A friend remembered
With a prayer we gathered
To ease the soul
Al-Fatiha or Sadaqah to console ***

In Islam we live not for today only
As we set our sight to Jannah solely
And we serve our purpose in this life on earth
We pray for Jannah as our final resting turf

* Al-Quran 40:68 “It is He Who gives Life and Death; and when He decides upon an affair, He says to it, "Be, " "and it is!
**Al-Quran 21:35 “Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial: to Us must ye return

*** The Prophet says: "When you pray for a dead person, make your supplication sincere." In his own supplication for a dead person, just before the latter's funeral, the Prophet said: "My Lord, forgive him; bestow Your mercy on him; purge him of sin, assign to him a good abode and a wide entrance (to heaven); wash him with water, snow and hail and purge him of sin as a white dress is purged of impurity; replace his home, family and wife with better ones; admit him to heaven and protect him against torment in the grave and the suffering in hell."

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: A man said to the Prophet (PBUH): "My mother has died suddenly. I think that if she were able to talk (alive) she would have given in Sadaqah (charity). So, if I give Sadaqah now on her behalf, will she get the reward?'' The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Yes (she will be rewarded for that).''
