The Earth is dying
As everything has its ending
Human is the being
Whose hands destroys anything and everything*

The world will come to its end
This message has been sent
By our own beloved man
A warner Godsend

Temperature is increasing
The Polar Ice is melting
Water is rising
The Earth is sinking

Seabed mining, yet another environment challenge
Electrical, biohazard waste – added to its imbalance
Water is precious but we are not cautious
Depleting what Allah sent as natural resources

Can we stop this trend?
Just be the environment friend
The call is not that easy, as all is not rosy
I do not want to be nosy but let’s get busy

An individual will make a different**
What more a group of people or a mere infant!
A good start is to trace your carbon footprint
See how you fair to be “green”

Garner the strength to reuse, recycle and reduce
Discard properly whatever you don’t use
As all creatures, animals and even the trees has its place
In this universe, the world – on Earth and even in space

Just do your bit as part of the human race
Live life by Allah’s grace
Obey what has been ordained
Even to the mundane

Rasulullah (s.a.w) says even in Wudhu there shouldn’t be any waste***
Killing the environment will leave a bitter taste
Just Stop! See! Think and be Tact!
Before we kill this world with our own callous acts


Oh Allah please forgive us
We misuse, mistreat and destroy the Trust
As your vicegerent we are supposed to protect but we crush
The Earth is dying – just because we failed our Task!

* Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]. (Surah Ar-Rum 30:41)


** For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah . Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron. [Surah Ar-Rad 13:11]


*** Imam Ahmad (6768) and Ibn Maajah (419) narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) passed by Sa‘d when he was doing wudoo’, and he said, “What is this extravagance, O Sa‘d?” He said: Can there be any extravagance in wudoo’? He said, “Yes, even if you are on the bank of a flowing river.”
