Scattered jewels

Refugees from Syria, Iraq and other refugees – scattered jewels.
Scattered, scattered jewels
Lights, with pain in their hearts
Some were later in life’s road
And children were only at the start
Bombs were dropped
Countless bullets fired
Billions spent
Jewels floating in blood
Limbs – torn from bodies
Scrambling in panic
Desperate for safety
At the margins of society
In Jordan, Lebanon, Europe
Refugees
We are all refugees
We all seek refuge
It’s just that some of us have it
And some of us don’t
The attacks still carry on
Physical violence
Hateful speech
And arrogance
Scattered, scattered jewels
Lights, with pain in their hearts
Some were later in life’s road
And children – they were only at the start.
