The Heavan's Seed

The Heaven’s Seed
Its time to count our blessings
Don’t mind my asking.
Since I have been searching and looking
Matter that sets my mind thinking
It seems like a simple task
Have you ever ask?
What have you done for the religion?
In this time, in this region!
The past years of my life
Wasted on earthly vile*
What deed of mine does Islam proud?
The one that stands out from the crowd
I looked back and compared
A feeling of despair
Nothing can repair
The thing I did, the time I spared
My deeds are zero
That doesn’t make me a hero
In Islam, the companions served
To heaven they deserved
What can I do?
As an ordinary man with problems too
Looking at you,
Please tell me what to do?
Muslims with our past glory
Now in a state so sorry
Doesn’t that make you worry?
And as Muslim, it sounds scary
The problem is not the religion
Muslims represent a legion
In numbers we are plenty
But not of quality**
Again I ask?
Before I am taken to task
What deed of my mine?
In Islam, does it shine?
I am afraid like many
The answer isn’t easy
The excuse I gave is flimsy
My deeds are not that rosy
Oh Allah, my prayer to Thee
I hope there is a deed,
However small indeed
That YOU will consider worthy as the heaven’s seed.

* Abu Hurairah reported that the messenger of Allah said: "Hasten the good works before the advent of tribulations like pieces of dark night. A man will get up a believer in the morning and end the day as an unbeliever, or end his day a believer and get up an unbeliever next morning, selling his religion for a share of this world." (Muslim)
** Thauban reported that the messenger of Allah said: "It is near that the nations will call one another against you just as the eaters call one another to their dishes." Somebody asked: "Is this because we will be few in numbers that day?" He said: "Nay, but that day you shall be numerous, but you will be like the foam of the sea, and Allah will take the fear of you away from your enemies and will place weakness into your hearts." Somebody asked: "What is this weakness?" He said: "The love of the world and the dislike of death." (Abu Daud)
