Trust And Contenment

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. All praise be to Allaah, Rabb of the all that exists, and may Allaah send His peace and praises on His Rasulallah(sallallahu alayahi wa salaam), our Nabi Muhammad(sallallahu alayahi wa salaam), as well as on all of his family members and Sahabah, and those who follow his guidance, tread his methodology and adhere to his Sunnah until the Day of Recompense.Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. I begin with ALLAH's auspiciousness, whose Name is the Best among all the Names. All Revences, All Sanctities and All Worships are due to ALLAH alone. Ashahadu An Laa illaaha illal llahu
Wa Ash Hadu Anna Muhammadan Abdu Hu Wa Rasooluhu
''I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah
who is without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) is the Rasool.''
"O Allah, Shower Your Peace come upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have brought peace to Ibrahim and his family.
Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, Shower your blessing upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious". Iam Satisfied with Allâh as My Rabb and Cherisher,Iam Satisfied With Islam as My Din(religion) and I am satisfied with Muhammad as a Rasulallah (Messenger)sallallahu alaihi was salam) I seek Protection with ALLAH! With the Glorious and Noble Face of ALLAH! With the Complete and Perfect words of ALLAH! With the Exalted Attributes of ALLAH! From the Punishment of Hell; From chastisement in the Grave; From the Trial of Life and Death; From the Mischief of the dajjal. There is no power nor strength with (anyone) save Allah. ALLAH is Good and Only accept that which is Good. ALLAH is the Truth and only accept that which True. ALLAH is Pure and only accept that which is Pure. (There is none worthy of worship except Allah, the Great, the Tolerant. There is none worthy of worship except Allah, the Rabb of the Magnificent Throne. There is none worthy of worship except Allah, the Rabb of the Heaven and the Earth, the Rabb of the Edifying Throne). (There is none worthy of worship except Allah, alone, Who has no partner. For Him is the Dominion and to Him is the praise. He gives life and He brings about death. He is living and does not die. In His hand is all good and He has power over all things.) Iam Satisfied with Allâh as My Rabb and Cherisher,Iam Satisfied With Islam as My Din(religion) and I am satisfied with Muhammad as a Rasulallah. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)said: “There is no Muslim servant who says in the morning and the evening three times: I am pleased with Allah as my Rabb, with Islam as my religion and with Muhammad Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) ? as my Nabi, except that it will be a right upon Allah to please him on the Day of Judgment.” (Ahmad) I am content. I love what Allah loves, and I am content with what Allah is content with, and I am happy with what Allah chooses. Why don’t we ask the ALLAH The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, where to find peace of the heart? He who is the Creator of Peace, He who is the Creator of Hearts,He who is the Creator of Tawakkul,He who is the Creator of Contentment ,He who is the Creator of Life and Death, He who is the Creator of Happiness and Distress, why don’t we ask Him? He will speak the truth as to what produces easiness and comfort in the hearts of mankind,Why don't we read the Holy Quran with sincerity seeking the guidance of ALLAH!. Tawakkul is a light for our hearts and a means for us to seek nearness towards Allah (SWT) in a manner that absolutely nothing else can achieve. The essence of this quality of the heart is built upon two very important pillars: dependence upon Allah and trust in Allah.
Have full Tawakkul (trust) in Allah (SWT) and never belittle that trust. For the trust we have in Allah is a path to success and a means to achieving victory. Never lose hope and always remember that the situation of a true believer is always one of goodness: For when they are granted a blessing from Allah (SWT) they praise Him and due to that they are rewarded and their blessings increase and when a calamity strikes they patiently persevere, and as a result of which they are rewarded and granted something better than what they lost. (Put your trust in Allah. Allah loves those that trust [in Him].)
[Surah al-Imran 3: 159]
Know that Allah (SWT) is pleased with those servants who persevere and He (SWT) loves those that trust in Him. Build a strong foundation of trust and and see that it accompany you in all that you do. For it is a quality that will remain sufficient for you in the matters of this world, your deen (religion) and in the Aakhira (hereafter) When we make Hijrah! we will find that is with Us insha'Allah. A beautiful example that never fails to touch our hearts is that of our mother: Umm Salamah (RA), when her husband Abu Salamah (RA) passed away and she remained steadfast, uttering the best statement at the time of any calamity: 'Inna Lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'oon -Surely to Allah we belong and surely to Him we will return'. And she received exactly as Allah (SWT) promises: blessings and mercy: For who could be better as a husband than Rasoolullah (SAW) -A gift to our mother, Umm Salamah (RA) for her tawakkul in Allah (SWT). 'And give good news to those who persevere, those who say, when a misfortune strikes them, Surely to Allah we belong, and surely to Him we will return, these are the ones on whom blessings from their Rabb descend, and mercy, and these are the ones who are rightly guided'
[Surah Al-Baqarah 2: 155-157]
Our Rabb (SWT) With His Hikmah, Love and Rahmah knows exactly what is good for us, so let us not be amongst the sinful foolish servants of Allah (SWT) who suspect Him of wrongdoing. So the next time you stand before Allah (SWT) and consult Him in your affairs about Hijrah, do think He'll give you what is good for you; And Know that with certainty that He (SWT) will: And know that ALLAH is the witness to All things, 'And Say: "Nothing will befall us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Protector in this world and the Next. In Allah let the believers put their trust." [Surah At-Tawbah: 51] Therefore, the believers hope in none except Allah, direct our dedication to Him alone, seek refuge with Him alone, invoke Him alone for our various needs and supplicate to Him alone. we know that whatever He wills, Will occurs and that whatever He does not will! will never occurs, that He alone is the One Who has the decision in His kingdom, without partners; none can avert the decision of Allah and He is swift in reckoning, It takes Faith in ALLAH and courage to make Hijrah to leave this land that have turned against ALLAH(that have turned against GOD), And Now It has become a ALLAH (God)Forsaken Land! If It ever were Bless! The Blessing is gone Now! We have toTrust in ALLAH and Not LOOK Back! Hence the statement of Sa`id bin Jubayr, "Tawakkul of Allah is the essence of faith. {Surah 3:160} If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their Trust. Tawakkul in Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) includes tawakkul in His provision of rizq. ALLAH commanded the pen to write 50,000 years before the creation of the universe, what provisions would come to us were written down in Lawh Mahfudh (The Preserved Tablet). Our test in this world is of the means we choose to earn these provisions. Do we adopt halal means and work seeking the pleasure of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala); or do we resort to haraam, not trusting the rizq to come to us through halal means? it is when the heart knows that It Rabb is sufficient for It' ‘if he the slave of ALLAH(truly) put his trust in Allaah, he would be pleased with what ever Allaah does’ man is a mutawakkil (one who puts his trust in Allaah) when he is pleased with Allaah as Wakeel’(The Disposer of Affairs) -- meaning, He is sufficient for us. Al-Wakeel in Arabic means the one who is entrusted to run the affairs of the one who entrusted them to him. The believers referred to in this aayah had entrusted their affairs to Allaah and put their trust in Him, so He described Himself as fulfilling that trust and them as having put their trust in Him, so He said, the Best Disposer of affairs for them. When a person puts his trust in his Lord, he submits to His Lordship and becomes a true slave of Him. Allaah has complete authority, meaning that al-Wakeel has full knowledge of that which has been entrusted to Him and He encompasses all its details; He has full power to deal with it and protect that which has been entrusted to Him, by His wisdom and His knowledge of how to deal with it in the most suitable manner.
Allaah is the One Who is above all shortcomings in any of His attributes; He is the Disposer of all affairs. This indicates that His knowledge encompasses all things and that He has perfect power to control all affairs with perfect wisdom, for He is the Best Disposer of Affairs.
tawakkul is to cut the heart’s attachments to other than Allaah’ ‘tawakkul is to submit to the decree of the Lord’ tawakkul has three levels: putting trust (in Allaah), then submitting, then entrusting (one’s affairs to Allaah); so the one who puts his trust (in Allaah) is reassured by His promise, and the one who submits is content with His knowledge, and the one who entrusts (his affairs to Allaah) is pleased with His decree.” The greatest of reliance and trust in Allaah, is to have reliance and trust with regards to Hidaayah, and in actualizing Tawheed, and making ittibaah of the Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallaam), and striving against the people of baatil. This is the Reliance and Trust of the Messengers, and in particular their followers.” Whenever we relies and depends on Allaah, and we do not surrender our hearts to illusions, and do not let evil imaginations get the better of us, and we puts our trust in Allaah, and has confidence in His favour, all grief and sorrow will vanish from our hearts as a result of these actions, and many physical and mental illnesses will leave us, and our heart will experience such joy and tranquility that are beyond expression. How many a hospital is filled with sick people suffering from mental illusions and evil imaginations! How many strong people have these things shattered their hearts, to say nothing of the weak ones! The only one exempted is the one with true Faith whom Allaah has given well-being, and guided him to struggle with his self in acquiring useful and beneficial knowledge, the means of strengthening the heart and warding off worries from it. Allaah, the Most High said: And whoever puts his trust on Allaah, sufficient is Allaah for him.” [Surat A?-?al?q 65:3] Meaning that Allaah is sufficient for him in all that worries him concerning his religion and his worldly life. A person who puts his trust in Allaah has a strong heart that is not affected by illusions, nor pertubed by events and occurrences, because he knows that is from a weak heart, and is an act of weakness and fear that has no reality. He also knows that Allaah has guaranteed the one who puts his trust in Him to suffice him completely, so he is confident in Allaah, and he feels assured of the promise of Allaah, as a result of which his worry and anxiety vanish, and his difficulty is replaced by ease, and his sadness by happiness, and his fear by peace and security. The Yearning to meet Allah is like the gentle breeze blowing upon the heart and soul, extinguishing the blaze of the Desire for the Dunya. Whosoever caused his heart to settle with his Rabb shall be in a state,Of Calmness,Peace, Tranquility, and Contentment and whosoever sent it amongst the people seeking the duny shall be disturbed and excessively perturbed.” O Muslim People! There is No Guidance! But the Guidance of ALLAH! And There is No Example! But the Example of Rasulallah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam)! And there is No Life! Except the life of Islam! ALLAH! has choose ISLAM for Us the Believeing Muslim as our way of life and for Mankind the Ummah of Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam)if they(mankind) will except it. O Muslim People! ALLAH has Honours And Ennoble us and has Restored our dignity as Humanbeings before the entire world by giving us the Gift of Islam,He (ALLAH) has Dignified us through the Holy Quran and through Rasulallah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) as Muslim,His Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam)life was one of Honor and Dignity. So Why do we behaviour so disgraceful? is it because a lack of Knowledge or is it just an unwillingness to Obey ALLAH! If you fashion your life after the Kaffara or the disbelieving people and follow what they do! then you will become one of them! We are living in a time where the Wicked has gether from around the world in great numbers and their target is the Believing Muslims,{these wicked people have ability! that they have gane thought their dark practices! their aim is to turn the true believing Muslims and muslims in general away from Islam,We the Believing Muslims are their Target, And their idea is to isolate Us in any way that they can and to make sure that we have no close friends or any other real true believeing muslims around us,then these Kaffara they put their friends the hypocrites and the disbelieving people in to places around the True believing muslims and so that these wicked people can start to working on us the muslims without our knowledge, through black magic, voodoo, witchcraft, the satans, jinns, and Electronic, with the intention of destroying our faith, thought these Evils. And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers” [Al Qur’an 4:141] Rasullulah (saw) mentions in a hadith that “Islam is always higher and nothing goes above it.” Meaning nothing can overpower Islam. So if we don’t see this happening, and we see the disbelievers having an upper hand over the believers, then we shouldn’t question the promise of Allah, but rather we should question ourselves and our Iman (faith). Are we behaving like true believers, or is the opposite of believers. These Kaffara have come here to serve satan in flesh the dajjal! (THE OPEN ENEMY OF ALLAH!) this KAFFARA the dajjal and his followers are using the Evils of black magic, voodoo, witchcraft and sewer, and Electroics trying to change our hearts while we are sleeping, this is the time where a man will go to sleep a believer and wake up a disbliever. Abû Musa al-Ashari said, The Prophet said, "Before the Hour comes, there will be a tribulation like patches of dark night. A man will get up a believer and go to sleep a kafir, or will go to sleep a believer and get up a kafir. But It is ALLAH who changes the Hearts of Men! for the hearts are between two of Allah’s Fingers, He changes them (as He wills)”
And It is ALLAH who is the Fashioner of Hearts, And It is ALLAH that is the Turner of Hearts,O Allah, the Turner of the hearts, turn our hearts to Your obedience and keep our hearts firm on your Din ,It is ALLAH who will Protect the Hearts of the True Believers. Verily Allah will defend (from ill) those who believe, verily, Allah loves not any that is a traitor to faith or shows ingratitude.”[Al Qur’an 22:38] Allah will protect the true believers,If you are a true believer then Allah will protect you. This is the promise of Allah. If anybody doesn’t get this, then that means there is something wrong with the iman (faith). Allah is the Protector of those who have faith; from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. Of those who reject faith the patrons are the evil ones, from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein (For ever).”[Al Qur’an 2:257] Allah has promised, to those among you who truly believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their(Din Islam) religion, the one which He has chosen for them and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: They will worship Me (alone) and not associate any partner with Me. If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.”[Al Qur’an 24:55] So such will be the people who will bring Islam back, that Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) referred to them as brothers. This honour will be for them because of their intense love for Allah, their love for the Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam), and for Islam, and their total obedience to the commands of Allah and their following the sunnah.
O Muslim People can you deny what is before your faces and what is going on in the world? do you think that everything is going to be alright tomorrow? the circumstance are going to get worse, Not because some one is saying so! But because this is the time fore It! This is the time that Powerful evil is moving up in the world coming to the forefront and Dominate the people lives. But fore the Believers ALLAH is our protector, and we have put our trust in Him, Allah will deliver the believers from the darkness of disbelief, doubt and hesitation(hesitation to make Hijrah from this dark land) into the light of Islam, which is the plain, clear and unequivocal truth. When a person is granted the light(Nur) of Islam, Allah enables such a person to differentiate between good and evil, truth and falsehood, right and wrong. Such a person lives their life according to the will and command of Allah, and the Sunnah of Rasulallah(sallallahu alayhi wa salam) because Allah has enabled them to realise the true purpose and reality of this life.So such a person gives preference to the hereafter, which is everlasting, over this world, which is transitory and temporary and will soon perish. Those whose hearts are veiled in darkness do not realise this, and will not realise until it is to late! and so they spend their lives in disbelief and disobedience, until they come face to face with the reality. Therefore, the believers hope is in none except Allah, we direct our dedication to Him alone, seek refuge with Him alone, invoke Him alone for our various needs and supplicate to Him alone,(And we put our trust in our Rabb, We know that whatever He wills,Will occurs and that whatever He does not will, will never occurs, that He alone is the One Who has the decision in His kingdom, without partners; none can avert the decision of Allah and He is swift in reckoning. Hence the statement of Sa`id bin Jubayr, "Tawakkul of Allah is the essence of faith. Allaah! Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). And in Allaah (Alone) therefore, let the believers put their trust”[Surat ut-Taghaabun, 64:13] “{And in Allah (Alone) therefore, let the believers put their trust}, meaning: let them depend on Him with regard to every affair that befalls them and with regard to what they want to accomplish, for indeed none of the affairs will be facilitated except by Allaah, and there is no way for that except by relying on Allaah, and reliance on Allaah will not be complete until the slave has a good opinion of His Rabb and he trusts in Him to be sufficient for the affair about which he is relying on Him. And the slave’s tawakkul (trusting in Allaah) will be according to his eemaan (faith); so the more the (Faith) eemaan strengthens, the more the tawakkul will also strengthen.” The one who entrusts his affair to Allaah does not do so except because of his wish that ALLAH decrees for him whatever is good for him in his worldly life and his hereafter, even if that which is decreed for him is contrary to what he thinks would be good,(ALLAH is the Best Knower!) So he is pleased with it, because he knows that it is good for him, even if the good aspect of it is hidden from him,ALLAH is still the Best Knower! And (the slave) is certain that his ability is in the Hands of Allaah, not in his own hands. So ALLAH is its Owner, not the slave, for if ALLAH did not give him the ability, he would be incapable of doing anything. Hence, he does not move except by (the help of) Allaah, not by himself; so his salvation is only by Allaah, not by the slave work. So the one for whom Allaah decreed something, and allotted a share of provision or obedience or condition or knowledge or other than that, then it will inevitably happen to him; and the one for whom that has not been allotted these things, then he absolutely has no way to get it, just as he has no way to fly up to the sky, except by a vehicle and to carry the mountains on his back. So in this same manner, he cannot oppose what has been allotted. Thus, whatever is for him from ALLAH it, it will come to him despite his weakness, and whatever is not for him from ALLAH it, he will not attain it (even) with his limited power.” {And put your trust in Allah, and Sufficient is Allaah as a Wakeel (Trustee, or Disposer of affairs)” [Surat ul-Ahzaab, 33:3] “{and Sufficient is Allaah as a Wakeel}: you entrust the affairs to Him, then He will take care of them and do what is best for the slave; that is due to His Knowledge of the things that are beneficial for His slave, whereas the slave doesn’t know, and (due to) ALLAH's Ability to bring them to him, whereas the slave has no power to do so, and (due to the fact) that ALLAH is more merciful to His slave than his own self and his parents, and more compassionate toward him than every single person. So Trust in ALLAH about every affair that will be facilitated, and difficulty that will become easy, hardships that will disappear, needs that will be fulfilled, blessings that will descend, and harms that will be lifted. And there you will see the weak slave who entrusted his affair to his Rabb, that He has taken care of affairs which a (whole) nation of people could not do, and Allaah has made easy upon him {who put their trust in ALLAH} that which was hard for strong men, and Allaah is the One whose help is sought. ”{And whosoever puts his trust in Allaah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allaah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed Allaah has set a measure for all things” [Surat ut-Talaaq, 65:3] “{And whosoever puts his trust in Allaah}, meaning, with regard to his Din (religious) and worldly affair by depending on Allaah to bring what will benefit him and remove what will harm him, and by trusting in Him to make that easy, {then He will suffice him}, meaning: He will suffice him for the matter about which he is putting his trust in Him; and if the matter is in the provision of the All-Rich, the All-Powerful, All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, then it is closer to the slave than everything else, but perhaps the divine wisdom requires its delay to the appropriate time for him,And ALLAH is the Best Knower, So this is why the He, Most High, says: {Verily, Allaah will accomplish His purpose}, meaning: His decree will certainly be carried out, but – {Indeed Allaah has set a measure for all things}, meaning: a time, a place and an amount, which cannot be exceeded nor missed. We put our trust In ALLAH to Guide us on the Straight Path”O ALLAH!)Ya ALLAH! Guide us to the Straight Path. Ibn `Abbâs said it was a request to be shown the way to the Straight Path or to be inspired to follow it. This covers all the different aspects of guidance.Ibn Taymiyah says: "All the commentators of the Qur'ân describe the Straight Path with some of its characteristics… Some of them describe the Straight path as Allah's Book or the act of following Allah's Book. Others say it is the religion of Islam. There are those who say it is the Sunnah and the community that follows the Sunnah. Some describe it as the path of worship or the path of placing one's love, fear, and hope in Allah and obedience to his commands and prohibitions. Others say that it is following the Qur'ân and Sunnah or obedience to Allah. The Straight Path is a name that embraces many characteristics."The first meaning that the verse conveys is our request to be made firm and constant on the Straight Path with all that the Straight path implies. Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) said: "The hearts of all human beings are between two fingers of the Merciful as if they are one heart. He moves them as He pleases." [Sahîh Muslim] This is why Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) used to ask in his supplications: "O mover of our hearts, move our hearts towards obeying You. O turner of our hearts! Turn our hearts towards Your religion."Anas asked Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam): "Ya Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam)! We believe in you and in what you have brought. Then do you still fear for us?" Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) replied: "Yes. Our hearts are between two of Allah's fingers. He moves them as He pleases."The Straight Path that we need to remain constant upon is the religion of Islam, so we must never desire any other religion. It is the Qur'ân, so we must never desire another Book. It is our faith, so we must never fall into unbelief. It is the Sunnah, so we should never fall into innovation. The essential factors upon which we need constancy are the five pillars of Islam, the six pillars of faith, our ethical principles, and the basics of what is lawful and prohibited that are clearly expressed in the Qur'ân and Sunnah and that are matters of consensus among the Muslims since the earliest days. A believer asks his Rabb day and night in all of his prayers for constancy in these matters, since there is no room for doubt. He prays to his Rabb to remain firm and unshaken in his conviction until the day that he meets Him, since he knows that many people are in fact shaken in their faith from time to time. The most precious thing that a Muslim possesses that ensures his welfare in this life and his success in the Hereafter is his faith. that the verse conveys is our request to attain an increase in guidance. Allah says: "Allah increases the guidance of those who are guided." A person does not receive full guidance all at once. Even Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) did not receive the revelation at once. The revelation came gradually until it ultimately reached its completion. Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) continued to worship Allah and grow in his certainty and devotion until the time of his death. Allah says to him in the Qur'ân: "Worship your Rabb until that which is certain (death) approaches you." Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) said: 'Though my heart gets preoccupied, still I seek of Allah's forgiveness 100 times a day." [Sahîh Muslim] It is the duty of a person to seek to increase in guidance. One aspect of this increase is contentment and tranquility in the heart. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said: "My Rabb! Show me how you restore the dead to life." Allah said to him: "Do you not believe?" He said: "Yes, but I merely wish to settle my heart." An increase in knowledge about matters of faith and matters of conduct is an increase in guidance. Allah says: "Whenever a chapter is revealed, some of them say: 'Which of you has had his faith increased by it?' Those who believe, their faith is increased and they rejoice. As for those in whose hearts is a disease, it will add foulness to their foulness and they will die in a state of unbelief." We can see in this verse that when a believer hears a new verse of the Qur'ân, he believes in it and it increases his faith whereas a hypocrite when he hears it, it increases his hypocrisy. Likewise, in the Qur'ân, Allah commands his Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam)to say: "O my Rabb! Increase me in knowledge." Knowledge is not to be sought as an academic exercise. It is sought as a matter of faith. The earliest Muslims used to seek knowledge even when they were terminally ill. When Ahmad b. Hanbal was on his deathbed, he began to moan from the severity of the pain that he was suffering. Some of those who were with him said: "The moan is recorded" (i.e. it is recorded that the person is not patient in his affliction). Upon hearing this, Ahmad stopped moaning. the verse conveys is our request to arrive at the right answer for matters wherein opinions differ and wherein people have different levels of understanding. Among the supplications that Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) used to offer in his night prayer was the following: "O Allah! Rabb of Gabriel, Michael, and Ariel! Creator of the heavens and the Earth! Knower of the Unseen and the manifest! You judge between your servants in what they disagreed about. Guide me, with your permission, to the truth in matters where people differ. Truly You guide whom You please to a Straight Path." [Sahîh Muslim, Musnad Ahmad, among others] This supplication covers the first aspect of guidance, that of steadfastness and constancy, but it encompasses more than that. It is a request for guidance in matters that are problematic. Scholars offer this supplication quite often when faced with a question about which they are uncertain or one in which there is a lot of disagreement. This form of guidance is in fact guidance to constancy, but it a type of constancy that does not always manifest itself with a constant, unchanging appearance. It is constancy in approach and methodology. It is the constancy of seeking guidance and remaining firm on the principles of Islam in all circumstances. It is the constancy of always seeking the truth. This is why we can say that one of the greatest constant principles in Islam is the principle of juristic discretion (ijtihâd), though ijtihâd is the force of change and renewal in Islamic Law. If a jurist uses his juristic discretion in a matter and is correct, he receives a double reward. If he does so and is mistaken, he receives a single reward. the verse "Guide us to the Straight Path" conveys is that of seeking guidance to the devotion and worship that should be exhibited in every circumstance. A healthy person has devotions to perform using his strength and energy to please Allah. A sick person has other devotions in the way of patience, fortitude, acceptance, and supplication. A wealthy person gives in charity and offers thanks to his Rabb. A poor person worships his Rabb by being reconciled to his state and by being pleased with what his Rabb has apportioned to him without harboring any envy against those to whom Allah has given more. There are devotions to be offered from our strength as individuals, communities, nations, and a global Muslim community. With such strength, we must defend and protect the Muslims and prevent vice and wrongdoing. There are devotions that we are responsible for when we are weak, including patience, nurturing hope, and thinking about how to better our state or condition for Allah's sake. There are different responsibilities in times of weakness than there are in times of strength. It is the duty of the Muslims to think and to plan, to estmate and determine how to mobilize the little strength that they have to make Hijrah and to shrug off the weakness that plagues them by going to another Environment that is more incline to Islam. They must work for the future generations in a better environment who will come after them, even if they cannot realize any benefits for themselves in this New Environment. Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) said: "Every worshipper goes through a period of intense fervor(energetica enthusiasm) and that period then comes to an end." He observed some people going to enormous lengths in their worship of Allah and said: "That is the most intense and enthusiastic expression of Islam. Every period of such fervor has its period of time that is followed by a milder period. If that milder period is one of moderation, correctness, and balance, then this is quite good. If that period is a period of sin, then it leads to destruction. [Musnad Ahmad] Here Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) is telling us that every time and circumstance has its expression of worship that suits it. Therefore, a believer must ask his Lord to guide him to the manner of devotion that best suits his circumstances. This same guidance is needed by the Muslims as a community and as a nation. Ibn Taymiyah writes: Every worshipper is forced constantly to supplicate and ask for guidance to the Straight Path. There is neither salvation from damnation nor any felicity except through this guidance. Whoever fails to attain it will be either among those upon whom is Allah's wrath or among those who are astray. This guidance is only from Allah. Whomever Allah guides is rightly guided and whomever Allah leaves to stray will never find anyone to guide him. The Straight Path is to always, at every time, do what you are commanded at that particular time with both your knowledge and your works and to abstain from what you are forbidden. You continue to do this until your firm desire is to do what is right and you truly detest doing what is wrong. Ibn Taymiyah here explains to us that guidance at every moment is according to the needs of the moment. We consequently need renewed guidance every day, every hour, and every moment of our lives. He also explains just how necessary this guidance is for us. When we ask to be guided,Or we seek guidance through The Holy Quran,Or through the Sunnah of Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) we are seeking guidance to understand our every situation and circumstance so we may realize how to properly worship Allah at all times and under all conditions. We can never hope to know this except by the grace of Allah. This is why Rasulullah(sallallahu alayhi was salaam) gave the following advice to Mu`âdh b. Jabal when he sent him to Yemen: "You are going to a people from among the people of the scripture, so the first thing towards which you should call them is to testify that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. If they obey you in this, then teach them that Allah has made compulsory upon them five prayers. Then if they obey you in this, teach them that there is charity to be taken from their wealthy people and given to their poor people... We can see in this that only when they respond to one teaching are they to be presented with the next. People as well as whole societies need to be called to the truth gradually. Likewise, different people are to be approached in different ways. Some people are best approached from the angle of personal development. Others are more disposed to detailed academic discourses about Islamic Law and the meanings of the Qur'ân. Others are more concerned about politics and current affairs Still others are best approached through action and Deeds. All of this must take into consideration the level of faith, knowledge, and readiness of those being addressed.
