Where are the good men?
Submitted by : qalamuddin on Muslim
The shy girl asked, " Where are the good men ".
A daunting task, I dare comment
Searching from East to West
A leader and protector who impressed
A man true to his Deen
In physical and spiritual being*
His better half he loves to the brim
Meeting a new woman "Excuse me! That's not for him"
The man in the mirror, is not yet that true man
A thing or two he needs to amend
A true man obeys all Allah’s commands
To date only Rasulullah takes that stand**
Is the good man a `rare dying breed'
Countable only by finger tips
To my fellow sisters, don't despair
Keep with Allah and in Jannah you'll find your pair
A true good man not only treats his wife like a Queen
His life revolves around Allah all in
He seeks Jannah, his ultimate dream
The pleasure on earth in not his cream
As life on earth serves as a testing ground
Good and evil do go around
A good man fears none
Neither seeking pleasure nor fun
Mistakes are made
Repentance is his take!***
In Islam the key is simplicity
Even when faced with difficulty
Man tends to change the norm and law
By breaking every bone and jaw
Hiding all his flaws
Evil acts on every floor
When an innocent is killed
They answered with much skill
“Collateral Damage” is the pill****
An antidote – a function it fulfills
Where are the good men?
Not of a perfect ten
But to protect and fend
From the evil others send
* Al-Nawwas bin Sam'an, radiyallahu 'anhu, reported that the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "Righteousness is good character, and sin is that which wavers in your heart and which you do not want people to know about." [Muslim]
According to Wabisah bin Ma'bad, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, and he said: "You have come to ask about righteousness ?" " Yes," I answered. He said: "Consult your heart. Righteousness is that about which the soul feels tranquil and the heart feels tranquil, and sin is what creates restlessness in the soul and moves to and fro in the breast, even though people give you their opinion (in your favour) and continue to do so." [A good hadith transmitted from the Musnads of the two Imams, Ahmad bin Hanbal and Al-Darimi
** Al-Quran 68:4 “And indeed, you are of a great moral character “
*** From Anas, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, say: "Allah the Almighty has said: 'O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.'" [Recorded by Al-Tirmidhi, who said that it is a good and sound hadith
**** “The blood of a man who is a Muslim is not lawful (i.e. cannot be lawfully shed), save if he belongs to one of three (classes): a married man who is an adulterer; life for a life (i.e. for murder); one who is a deserter of his religion, abandoning the community.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
